Pet Of The Week - Future Journalist - Cassie
Cassie was selected as one of ten students from her elementary school to be a Kid Newscaster on the Daily Herald TV channel. Cassie was excited that she got to do the pet of the week. She really likes animals so it was fun for her. I downloaded her broadcast and then uploaded her on our blog, but if you want to see her classmates at school, you can see them here.
Make sure you select Saturday, May 10th to see her school mates do their newscast. Also, remember to pause the music playlist so you can hear Cassie well.

I Think Spring Is Finally Here!
In the morning, when I go out to feed the chickens and the cats, I love to hear the song of the Black-capped chickadees. You can listen to the song of the chickadee here if you like. Go to the section called vocalization. There are lots and lots of bird sounds early in the morning but the sound of the chickadee is distinct and stands out from the rest.

The King's Pathway is in Spain. Built in 1905, before helicopers, cranes, and other modern equipment. In this video you experience walking along the path built in 1905 which now has fallen into disarray. You are seeing the hike as the hiker sees it. Soccer Season Has Begun

I got McKay and Draeton to sit still for a moment at their soccer game. They play together in the Lindon, Recreation league. They decided to call their team the Dragons. It might have something to do with the tattoo McKay had on his leg that his older sister put on. The boys were pretty excited to play soccer. Draeton was McKay's neighbor until they moved away just a few weeks ago, so it will be good that they could play together.

I always thought I looked a bit like Sean Penn. In high school when Fast Times at Ridgemont High came out, people at school called me Spicoli.

I wouldn't have picked some of these look-alikes if they were in a line-up if asked if they look like me. I'm not sure if having Sarah Jessica Parker, Nelly Furtado and Jody Williams on my list means that I have a feminine face or it means they are manly looking women?! I don't mind looking like Lothar Matthaus as he's a famous German soccer (football) player. I had to use google to figure out who Oded Fehr is. He's an actor from Israel, with a German father. He's most known for being the protector of the resting place of "The Mummy" on the "The Mummy" movies. My brother-in-law will know who Dave Navarro is, he's been in bands such as Jane's Addition and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.) That leaves Dermot and David. I've seen David Arquette in a few movies most notably I remember him in See Spot Run. Dermot I remember most from the movie Young Guns, which I have seen on TV.

Little Miss Lindon

Cassie recently participated in the Little Miss Lindon Pageant. There were four other girls from our neighborhood who participated as well. For her talent Cassie sang a song from the original Doctor Doolittle soundtrack.

Looks like the participants are having fun while getting their pictures taken. Thanks to Oma and Papa for attending the pageant.

For her service project Cassie made a meal for a family in our neighborhood that recently has had some tough times. The father has been diagnosed with cancer (and is under going chemo-therapy) and the mother has had their back operated on. Cassie made the meal so that the family could prepare when they want to use it. She also made some truffles for them. I got to try one and they were good.

Micorburst, Hannah's Operation, Spring Weather

Tuesday night a microburst wind whipped through our backyard. Three of the neighbors trees snapped and spread over the back of our yard. I took these pictures Wednesday morning.

Hannah is having a Tonsillectomy this morning please include her in your prayers. Hannah over the last year has had recurring strep infections and we are hoping this will put an end to her pain and suffering in that regard.

Utah weather continues to tease us that spring will be here. This morning we woke up to a light coat of snow in areas of our back yard. The cats water was frozen and on the way into work I saw several weather monitors displaying that it was 33 degrees outside.
