Give me Gum, Gum,....Youth Conference - '08
This week-end I participated in our Ward's Youth Conference. The theme for Youth Conference was Committed to being Steadfast and Immovable. (Many of the youth guessed, the theme as Crime Scene Investigation.) Sydney won the logo contest for this Youth Conference. For her subject she sketched a Moai (Easter Island Head) during sacrament meeting on the day it was due. Sydney did this sketch free-hand, she gets her artistic skills from her multi-talented mom. I included a copy of the program from Youth Conference which prominently displayed her sketch on the cover. Also, hoodies were given out to each of the youth with this logo and lettering on the left breast. The image was chosen because the Moai are steadfast and immovable. Hannah has been in a play this week. Her last show is tonight. Last night we went to her show. Haley, Oma, Angie, Cassie, Julie and myself. We were up on the balcony so I took some pictures with my mobile phone. One of them looks okay, the rest well, didn't turn out so well. Hannah is doing a great job as an Oompa Loompa. I took a couple of pictures of the program. Hope you can make out the pictures. The picture I took of Hannah after the show probably turned out the best of the lot.
Re-Discovering Discovery ParkCassie and MacKay are hanging around, Mackay and Caleb are taking a spin, the teenagers are striking a pose, and Nathan and Cassie are saying, Hey! This was probably the warmest day of the year, we got close to 70%.
Easter Egg Decorating @ Oma's
On Saturday we went to Oma's to do the Annual Easter Egg decorating and Easter Egg hunting. We really appreciate getting to go over to Oma's and do this. I know the kids had a lot of fun decorating the eggs. We have plenty of eggs now, so if anyone wants to make some deviled eggs, egg salad sandwiches, etc. we can hook you up. It was fun that Greggie could come over with his kids. Saturday was a busy day. I helped with Scouting for food and helped a neighbor move on Saturday.
Sydney's Birthday Celebration
Immaculate Reception BYU Style
Everyone who knows me knows that I really enjoy BYU sports with that said I especially enjoy BYU football. This cartoon gave me a good chuckle. It's in reference to the "immaculate reception" made by Austin Collie when BYU was deep in it's own territory, in the 4th Qtr., time was nearly out, and it was 4th and 18. BYU was behind in the score, but when this catch was made the Cougar faithful knew BYU was going to score and pull off a win over the school up North.
